The Dubai International Marathon will start on February 12, as part of the Dubai Sports Council’s initiatives.
Encourage everyone to participate in the marathon
According to the Dubai Media Office agency, with the approaching date for the return of this global event to the international agenda, governmental and private bodies and institutions in the Emirate of Dubai began to encourage their employees to participate in this global event.
3 races
It is noteworthy that the Dubai World Marathon includes 3 races, including:
1/ The main race for the elite, with a distance of 42.195 km.
2/ The mass race with a distance of 10 kilometers.
3/ The “fun” family race, with a distance of 4 km, in Umm Suqeim, Dubai.
Participation of governmental and private bodies and institutions in the marathon
Among the organizations that participated in encouraging their employees to participate in the marathon:
• Dubai Roads and Transport Authority.
• Dubai municipality.
• Dubai Duty Free.
• Secretary service.
• Emirates Society for the Care of Parents’ Dignity.
The participation of these bodies comes in order to motivate all segments of society to adopt a healthy and sporty lifestyle.
All arrangements completed
For his part, Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, confirmed that all arrangements are close to being completed to produce the event in the best way, and indicated that he would like to thank the Organizing Committee for its steps within the framework of the meticulous professional preparation for the most prominent event in the region.
High turnout and record participation
Ahmed Al Kamali, General Coordinator of the Dubai World Marathon, expressed his happiness at the increasing demand for registration from citizens and residents alike, institutions, bodies and individuals, indicating that this turnout writes a new certificate of success for the race.
Al-Kamali indicated that he held a coordination meeting with Dubai TV, during which it was agreed that the event would be broadcast live.
Al-Kamali pointed out that the race will have record participation this year due to the increasing turnout of both sexes, noting that registration is optimistically taking place on the event’s website. www.dubaimarathon.org And that the door will remain open for registration until nine in the evening on February 8 for a place on the starting line.
Dubai World Marathon
The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon, which is one of the most prominent events in Dubai International, was launched for the first time in 2000 under the auspices of “Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,” Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Conditions for participation in the Dubai Marathon 2023
It is noteworthy that the most important conditions for participation in the marathon are:
• Participants must fill out the official registration form in full and pay the fees, and this process constitutes acceptance of the marathon terms and conditions.
• The rules and regulations of the Dubai Marathon follow the law of world athletics, and all participants must abide by these rules and regulations and comply with all directives and decisions taken by the officials of world athletics.
• The Dubai Marathon organizers take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of the participants, however the participants run the race at their own risk and the organizers will not be liable for any loss or damage.
• All participants are responsible for travel and medical insurance.
• The official time limit for finishing the marathon is 6 hours, in cooperation with Dubai Police and medical authorities, and every participant who exceeds this period must run on pedestrian paths.
• No pets or any means of wheeled transportation are allowed on the road.
• Ticket price will not be refunded for any reason.
• The organizer reserves the right to restrict and refuse any participant.
