In partnership with Fox Cinema and MBC Group; The Red Sea International Film Festival announced the announcement of the jury members for the Red Sea Feature Film Competition and the Red Sea Short Film Competition, within the second session of the festival, which will be held from December 1 to December 10, 2022, in Jeddah, on the shores of the Red Sea coast. The festival is looking forward to hosting filmmakers and movie stars, along with the media and experts in the film industry, in the presence of film lovers, as part of an artistic, cultural and entertainment celebration that extends for ten days, and embraces a group of Arab and international films.

The Red Sea Feature Film Competition jury will be chaired by legendary director, producer and writer Oliver Stone; Which is a prominent name in the history of cinema for more than half a century. During his career, he won his first Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for “Midnight Train” (1978), and he also won Best Director for “Platoon” (1986) and “Born on the Fourth of July” (1989). In addition to his directing a group of masterpieces of world cinema, such as, “Wall Street” (1987), “JFK” (1991), “Nixon” (1995), “W” (2008), and “The Savages” ( 2012), Snowden (2016), Scarface with director Brian De Palma; Which is considered one of the most famous films in the history of cinema. For his part, Oliver Stone, Chairman of the Red Sea Competition Jury, commented: “It is a great honor for me to be asked to chair the jury for the second session of the Red Sea International Film Festival, along with my fellow jury members, and I am pleased to see a variety of films, as this is a valuable opportunity.” For all of us to evaluate and celebrate the best work of filmmakers from the Arab world, Asia and Africa. He will be joined by Chairman of the Jury, Oliver Stone; Both: Egyptian star Nelly Karim, from her works “The Blue Elephant”, “Clash” and “Cairo 678”, along with the Oscar-nominated; Kawthar Ben Haniyeh, and among her works, “The Man Who Sold His Back” and “The Beauty and the Dogs”, in addition to the famous Georgian film director Levan Kogwashvili, from his works “A Blind Date”, “Brighton IV” and “The New Life of Jogeta”, and finally; the inspiring Palestinian actor; Ali Suleiman, from his works “Paradise Now”, “Huda’s Salon” and “200 Meters”.
While joining the jury of the Red Sea Short Film Competition are: director Joanna Hadji Touma, from her works “The Memory Box”, “The Lebanese Rocket Club” and “A Perfect Day”. The Saudi writer and director Shahd Amin, from her works, “Mawazine”, “Lina’s Date”, “Ain and Houriya” and “The Lady of the Sea”, and the Nigerian actor Ozi Agu, from his works, “Lost in Orkoshi”, “Walking with Shadows” and “Land battle.”
