A statement from the “Saudi Meteorology” regarding the rainfall in Jeddah

The National Center of Saudi Meteorology revealed that it recorded the highest amount of rain in Jeddah Governorate, from 8 am to 2 pm, in the south of the governorate, which amounted to 179 mm.
And the center indicated, through the report it issued, that the amount of rain that fell today in Jeddah exceeds the amount of rain recorded in 2009, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Road security forces closed the “Makkah-Jeddah” road due to the heavy rains that fell heavily today and flooded the streets in a number of regions of Saudi Arabia.

The National Center of Meteorology expected, in its report on the weather for today – God willing – thunderstorms, from medium to heavy, preceded by active winds, in parts of the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Tabuk, the northern borders, Hail and Al-Qassim, while rainy thunderclouds will form. Over Jizan, Asir, Al-Baha and the northern parts of the eastern region, it is also not excluded that fog will form in the night and early morning hours over parts of the northern borders, Qurayyat, Tarif, and the northern parts of the eastern region.
The report indicated that the movement of surface winds on the Red Sea is southwesterly to northwesterly over the northern part, at a speed of 20-40 km/h, and southeasterly to southwesterly over the central and southern parts, at a speed of 20-40 km/h, and the wave height is from one to two meters, and the state of the sea is medium.
