Şaroğlu told Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, “What is the reason why AKP Tunceli Provincial Chair Sercan Özaydın and the accompanying delegation were greeted with a military ceremony during their visit to the Gedikler Gendarmerie Station, and who are responsible for this? Has an administrative investigation been initiated against the station commander and those responsible?” she asked.

CHP’s Şaroğlu brought up the meeting of AKP Tunceli Provincial Chairman Sercan Özaydın and his accompanying delegation with a military ceremony during their visit to the Gedikler Gendarmerie Station in the Çemişgezek district the previous day, with a parliamentary question he submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Şaroğlu made the following statement in the parliamentary question:

“THIS MEHMETCI’S INSTRUCTIONS TO THESE SCANDAL IMAGES CANNOT BE ACCEPTABLE”

• Images of the moment when AKP Tunceli Provincial Chairman Sercan Özaydın and his accompanying delegation were greeted with a military ceremony during their visit to the Gedikler Gendarmerie Station were shared on the social media account of Çemişgezek Municipality, but the post was deleted after the reactions. It is unacceptable for a political party leader to be welcomed as the high level representatives of the State and for Mehmetçi, a member of our glorious army, to be used as a tool for these scandalous images.

“WAS AN ADMINISTRATIVE INVESTIGATION STARTED ABOUT THE PATROL COMMANDER AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES”

• What is the reason why AKP Tunceli Provincial Chair Sercan Özaydın and the accompanying delegation were greeted with a military ceremony during their visit to the Gedikler Gendarmerie Station, and who are responsible for this?
• What is the purpose of applying the official ceremonial welcome held for the high-level representatives of the state to the AKP Provincial President as well?
• Do you think it is right that the centuries-old state traditions are materialized by the AKP administrators and cast a shadow over the prestigious institutions of the state?
• Has an administrative investigation been initiated against the commander of the police station and other responsible persons who set the stage for the scandalous images in question?
