VakıfBank is at the top of Europe for the 5th time

VakıfBank Women’s Volleyball Team added a new one to its historical achievements by reaching the championship in the CEV Champions League.

Defeating Italy’s Imoco Volley team 3-1 in the CEV Champions League Super Final held in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, the yellow-black team succeeded in bringing Europe’s biggest club-level trophy to its museum for the 5th time.

VakıfBank became the champion in the CEV Champions League in 2022 after 2011, 2013, 2017 and 2018.

The yellow-black team lost the championship 3 times before in the final.

GREAT JOY AT THE END OF THE MATCH

VakıfBank’s players and technical team experienced great joy at the end of the match.

After the final score, the players gathered on the field and the technical committee hugged each other and celebrated the championship.

11th CUP IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARENA

Turkish teams won the championship trophy in 7 of the last 11 seasons in the Women’s CEV Champions League.

VakıfBank Güneş Sigorta Türk Telekom won the Final Four held in Istanbul in 2011, while Fenerbahçe Universal became the champion of the Final Four held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, in 2012. Then, in the Final Four held in Istanbul in 2013, VakıfBank won the championship again and left the cup in Turkey.

The yellow-black team won 4 FIVB Clubs World Championships, 5 CEV Champions League, 6 Turkish League, 4 Turkish Cups and 4 Turkish Champions Cups with Guidetti, who has been working since the 2008-2009 season.
