Young people were asked, ‘Why are you going abroad?’ The answer was not surprising.
CHP Deputy Chairman Gökçe Gökçen shared the results of his study on why young people want to immigrate abroad at the Party Assembly meeting held the previous day. The following findings were included in the report:
Not because of admiration: Young people migrate not because of admiration for Europe, but because they can no longer meet their basic needs in Turkey. Many young people said that they were worried about their country by following Turkish politics there as well.
The reason for merit: We observed that young people had to leave their beloved countries for reasons such as the loss of respect for educated people and the loss of merit. Women stated that the risk of harassment and violence exhausted them.
Antidepressant use: In interviews with unappointed young teachers, it was revealed that many teachers use antidepressants.
