The pending defendant TA, who was prosecuted for “deliberate killing”, attended the hearing at Kırıkkale 2nd High Criminal Court via Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS) from Eskişehir. The lawyers of the parties and relatives of Elif Sinan were present at the hearing.
At the hearing, the defendant TA, who made his defense after hearing the witnesses, repeated his previous statements and claimed that he had not killed anyone and that the incident was suicide.
After the defense of the parties’ lawyers, the court board decided to arrest the accused and postponed the hearing.
After the hearing, the lawyer of the complainant İbrahim Yılmaz told the journalists that the detention decision was made on the basis of the legal evidence and provisions at the prosecution stage.
The lawyer of the complainant Yılmaz said, “At this stage, we would like to thank both the court committee and our security organization for their hard work.”
Stating that they are waiting for the day when the detention decision will be finalized, her sister Zeynep Sinan noted that justice has been served.
