Sweden officially applied to NATO: Signed the document – Last Minute World News

Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde signed her country’s application for NATO membership.

Linde, who signed the NATO membership application live at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that she did the best for Sweden.

Linde added that the application document will be delivered to NATO together with Finland in a short time.

Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson announced yesterday that the Swedish government had decided to apply to NATO after the talks in the parliament.

OBJECTIONS OF TURKEY

Ankara opposes the membership of Finland and Sweden on the grounds that they support terrorism. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan once again said yesterday that Turkey will not approve the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO.

“Let them not get tired to be persuaded,” said Erdogan.

Putin intimidated

Russian leader Vladimir Putin argued that his country has no problems with Finland and Sweden. It has not made a direct threat to NATO enlargement.

However, he said that if the organization’s military infrastructure is expanded to include these countries, “it will be reciprocated”. “We will see what kind of threat he will create against us, we will respond accordingly,” said Putin.

Putin’s inner circle, former President Dmitry Medvedev, said last month that he could deploy nuclear weapons and hypersonic missiles in Kaliningrad, a land on the Baltic coast.
