A fire broke out in the Harbor Area in the Sepetlipınar Neighborhood of Başiskele District, in the area where the scrap and waste kept in the open area. When the surrounding officers noticed the flames and smoke rising from the area, they immediately reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, many firefighters were dispatched to the area.
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality firefighters, who reached the scene, took the fire under control, while the smoke rising from the scene painted the sky black. While it was learned that cooling and extinguishing works were continuing at the scene, firefighters and police teams launched an investigation into the fire.
