The 103rd of the Turkish Red Crescent General Assembly, which is held every 3 years, was held with the participation of senior state officials, foreign mission representatives, non-governmental organization presidents and managers and Red Crescent delegates.
HE WAS PRESIDENT AGAIN
Kerem Kınık, who received all the valid votes at the General Assembly held at the ATO Congresium Congress Center, was re-elected as the Chairman, while the Red Crescent delegates determined the members of the Board of Directors and Auditors who will manage the institution for the next 3 years. Dr. Kerem Kınık and his list received the vote of all the delegates participating in the voting.
The 103rd General Assembly of the Red Crescent, which was held in Ankara with the participation of Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, AKP Deputy Chairmen, deputies, bureaucrats and many non-governmental organizations, was completed.
ERDOĞAN SENT A MESSAGE TO THE CONGRESS
In the message he sent to the congress, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “There is not a single natural disaster in our region or in our country that the Red Crescent is not there. May the Red Crescent’s heart-warming red crescent fluctuate. Most of the time, you are the first to hear the cry for help to the needy before the official institutions, you are the first to run for help” and wished success to the new administration.
In his speech, Vice President Fuat Oktay, who attended the congress, said, “The fact that we have brand organizations such as the Red Crescent with high organizational capabilities and equipment is the result of our being a strong and assertive state.” Recalling the period he was the Afad Presidency, Oktay said, “I saw the Red Crescent in every disaster I went to as the Afad President.”
“WE EXIST TO BE THE VOICE OF THE GLOBAL CONSCIOUSNESS”
In his speech, Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık said, “We exist to be the voice of the global conscience. Today, humanitarian crises in Sub-Saharan Africa, in the Lake Chad basin, in the Ethiopian Tigre region, in many geographies of the world, in Bangladesh, in Somalia, and in many different geographies, unfortunately, do not receive the necessary attention. We have to awaken the global conscience, strengthen global solidarity, awaken and mobilize humanity in a way that is aware of humanity,” he said.
In the election held after the speeches, Kerem Kınık was re-elected as the Chairman by taking the votes of all the delegates participating in the voting, while the new board of directors and supervisory board members of the Red Crescent were also determined. After the voting, Kerem Kınık thanked the delegates and underlined that they would take Kızılay further.
