The Council of Judges and Prosecutors and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will appoint new members to replace the 8 high judiciary members who have expired or retired in the Council of State. 3 members of the Council of State will be appointed by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, and the other 1 member will be appointed by President Erdoğan.
8 MEMBERS’ TERMS ENDED AT THE CONSULTATION
The Presidency of the Council of State notified the Presidency and the Ministry of Justice of 8 members whose 12-year term of office has expired or retired. It has been learned that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will elect 1 person and the Council of Judges and Prosecutors 3 people to the vacant staff of the Council of State until the end of this month.
3 MEMBER HSK, 1 MEMBER TO BE DETERMINED BY THE PRESIDENT
Three-quarters of the vacant memberships in the Council of State were elected from the administrative judiciary judges and prosecutor’s offices, and one-fourth from among other officials; judges and prosecutors of the administrative judiciary are determined by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, and the other member is determined by President Erdogan. Those who are elected as members of the Council of State by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors and whose term of office has expired are appointed by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors to a position in accordance with their class and rank in the administrative judiciary, while those who are elected by the President of the Republic as a member of the Council of State and do not make a request to be appointed to a duty in the administrative judiciary are reported to the Presidency.
