Breaking news: Details of the investigation regarding passengers abducted from quarantine have been announced

Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation regarding the unloading of two people from the bus going to the quarantine dormitory at the airport in Istanbul.

According to the information obtained by DHA, the investigation is carried out within the scope of the “Crime of Acting Against Measures Regarding Communicable Diseases” regulated in Article 195 of the TCK. Article 195 of the Turkish Penal Code states that “Anyone who does not comply with the measures taken by the competent authorities to quarantine the place of residence of a person who has caught or died from one of the communicable diseases is sentenced to imprisonment from two months to one year”. In the investigation, it was stated that no arrests were made against those responsible.

After the Turkish citizens abroad came to Turkey, extraordinary measures were taken. Turkish citizens were taken to the dormitories where they would be kept in quarantine by getting on buses from the airport. However, with a post on social media, it was reported that a passenger named GS was taken off the bus. Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office accepted the social media post as a notice and launched an investigation ex officio. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office conducts its investigation in accordance with Article 195 of the TPC, which states that “Anyone who does not comply with the measures taken by the competent authorities to quarantine the place where a person who has caught or died from a contagious disease is punished with imprisonment from two months to one year”. In the investigation, it was noted that no arrests were made against those responsible.
